Cortell Health

Ernest Glad founded Cortell International Corporation in 1992 and is CEO of Cortell Health, a subsidiary of Cortell International which is solely focused on providing comprehensive, performance management solutions to hospitals.  A former university professor  in management accounting, Ernest has been a global consultant in cost management  for over 30 years in industries such as health care, insurance, education, banking, logistics, and retail, spanning countries such as the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Qatar, Thailand, China and South Africa.

As chief architect of IntelliMax, Cortell Health’s hospital business intelligence solution, Ernest has also developed several other custom software solutions designed for hospitals around the globe, which address activity-based costing (ABC), profitability, quality, and resource planning and budgeting. Since developing the first ABC solution in South Africa in 1987, Ernest has been helping organizations around the world attain and maintain profitability through ABC, profitability analyses, budgeting projects and extensive training. 

Author of more than 40 articles on ABC in professional magazines and co-author of a book on the same subject, Ernest has been an in-demand, international speaker at more than 200 conferences, most recently at a major health conference in China on the subject of performance management and business intelligence for hospitals.

Ernest is a chartered accountant and cost management accountant with an honors degree in computer systems.  His certifications include MCom, CA(SA), ACMA, BSc (Hons), and ACA (NZ).  He is a member of the Lone Star Chapter of HFMA, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and is an active member of the American Information Management Association (AHIMA).
